Elevator Entrances

New Construction installations

Throughout the years we have been given opportunities to tackle difficult projects and we’re grateful to say we have YET to say “no”.

Modification Entrance Swaps

These kinds of jobs require heavy demolition to remove the existing frame. During this process our field team take into consideration the new hole opening measurement.

Once demo is complete installation begins on the new entrances per landing. Parts are installed one by one angle linear (if applicable), sill supports, struts, frame, header, door track(s) and lastly hall door(s).

Now your frame is secured and leveled. Our last step is to reinforce the new entrance in place with a cement rough finish on every landing to close and remaining gaps between the hall landing and inside shaft.

Saddle Repairs

Did one of your sill supports finally crack after all these years? Or maybe you want to change the material. No frames will be harmed during this process.

We simple carefully remove the old saddle while doors and frame are still in place. Install your desired saddle and reinforce it back with anchored brackets and cement.

Shaft-way Dismantling

Taking care of the entire phase one shaft removal is our strong set. Once cables are cut we come in and start dismantling. Our field team on site will any elevator component inside of the shaft-way, motor room and pit. Timeframe varies per job and we have our own equipment.

Here is a list of things we remove during this phase.

  • Guide Rails, Counterweight Rails and Weights

  • Entire Cab, Overhead and Platform

  • Cables and dead wiring inside the shaft

  • Motor room & Heavy Machinery

  • We Remove all Garbage from Job site

  • Shaft will be completely gutted and ready for phase two.

Types of Installations

Cab Shell Assembly

It is common to have a cab vendor who can’t install their own supply. Luckily K&R has the insurance to do. Simply have the material delivered on site and we’ll assemble the entire shell within one day!

Hall Entrances & Door(s)

As mentioned before K&R started off doing entrance work in the early years of the business. We are always eager to go back to our roots and maintain clear knowledge on installing doors and frame. Our installation team have installed many different systems from vendors like National, Columbia, A&D, Xpress, etc. (We are not a manufacturing company).

Guide Rail and Counterweight Rails

A new service we’ve added are rail installation. Contractor is responsible for having all material on site prior to our arrival. We will be responsible for carefully and safety installing brackets, guided rails, counterweight rails and securing weights in it’s new home.

Demolition Repairs

Shaft-way Water Damage Repairs

There are multiple ways to tackle this job. Though before all you must make sure the leak is taken care of prior to our scheduled project. Effected area will be chipped off and contractor will choose how the hole will be covered. Options are sheet metal work with fire foam or reinforced rebar and cement finish.

Elevator Pit Renovations

Elevator contractors take their pit and motor rooms very serious. Our services provide removing old concrete flooring and pouring a new leveled reinforced slab with drainage if needed. On demand we top off a layer of high graded heat resistant paint of your choosing.

New Pit Door Entryway

It feel likes New York City codes change every year but the one main safety hazard is not having a decent entryway into the bank pit. We handle the hard labor on removing debris on where you want to prevent your new pit entrance.
